The
year was 1960. Tulsa had been an incorporated community for a
short 62 years with a population of 262,000. AT&T long distance
advertised a three minute telephone call from Tulsa to Dallas
for 65¢. Local grocery stores advertised one pound of coffee for
74¢. Savings accounts were paying 4%.
Tulsa’s history and the history of churches and ministries,
and those who serve them are forever intertwined. One-by-one
major ministries make Tulsa, Oklahoma (and near-by Broken Arrow)
their home. Bill Thresher leaves his occupation as a pressman
and opens Lithaprint as a printing facility to serve the needs
of ministries who could not afford printing on their limited
budgets. (Our name comes from a twist on the lithography printing process).
Through the years our client list reads like a Who’s Who of
church, non-profit and corporate leadership. God blessed the
step of faith Bill Thresher took to open Lithaprint in 1960.
Expanding the business in 1962; Bill moves the printing facility
to a renovated community grocery store near downtown Tulsa. From
those humble beginnings in the original 40’ x 40’ building,
Lithaprint continues to operate and expand. Bill continued to
guide Lithaprint during its formative stages, adding family
members, (and their spouses and friends) one and two at a time.
When you speak or work with one of our staff, most of the
time you are working with someone who knew and worked with Bill
Thresher. Our staff, customers, vendors and friends are family
to us at Lithaprint. We still have family lunches on Fridays!
Honoring the legacy of Bill Thresher, second and third
generations of the Thresher family continue the vision of its
founder: Provide high quality
printing and products to pastors, churches and ministries, and
businesses at an
affordable cost.
